I´m sure if you have any interest in the paranormal then you have heard of the possessed doll Annabelle. This Woolley menace has been the subject of a few movies now, not small titles either like The Conjuring, or a follow up from The Conjuring, Annabelle the Movie. Both rather shitty, but hey. Her very own movie! aside from all of this novelty and Hollywoodism, there is a dark story, The true story of Annabelle the Doll. A story that changed or ruined/ruins lives.

The True Story of Annabelle the Doll
The earliest story that can be traced of Annabelle is in the early 1970’s, when a girl called Donna, who was a collage student at the time, got given the doll as a gift from her mother. She had bought it secondhand at a run down old hobby store.

The Anabelle Doll apart from being quite ugly seemed at first to be nothing more than a normal doll, until Donna’s roommate Angie began to notice that the doll was moving around the apartment by itself. Very slight movements. But eventually, they would come home after leaving Annabelle on the bedroom and find her on the on a chair in the main room. In short, Annabelle the Doll became fully mobile.
But of course, both of them being women of “logic”, they brushed it off. It wasn’t until there amigo Lou started coming over did the activity really escalate.
He hated the Anabelle doll and was convinced there was something evil and unnatural about it. Then they began to find pieces of paper around the house with the words ” Help us ” or ” Help Lou ” written on them, and it only got worse.
One night Donna returned home to find a blood red liquid all over Annabelle’s hands. The liquid was oozing from the doll itself. Enough was enough, time to call the medium.

The medium spent some time alone with the Anabelle doll and proclaimed it was a seven year old girl named Annabelle Higgins who has been possessing the doll, apparently she had been found dead in a field. She told the girls that the spirit of Annabelle found them both trustworthy and wanted to stay, stay safe with them. This was not the true story of Annabelle the doll.
Now with the medium, she could have just been making it all up, but demons have been known to mimic young children to gain the trust and access the lives and minds of those involved.
So, the girls taking pity on the Anabelle doll and have permission for Annabelle the doll to stay with them. All thanks to the expert dead person speaker and that’s when the shit really hit the fan.
Annabelle Higgins ( the little girl )
Lou began to have vivid nightmares where Annabelle would be in his bed, climbing up his legs as he was frozen and unable to move. Then slowly making her way up his chest and choking him to death. He would awake terrified, freezing and freaking out.
At around the same time Lou, Angie & Donna where planning a road trip when they heard movement in Donna’s room. So Lou being the man went to check. The noises where never ending and very loud. He threw open the door to find nothing changed apart from the fact that Annabelle had moved from the bed, to the corner of the room where she sat staring directly at him.
He spun around after feeling someone behind him and then felt an intense burning pain on his back. He pulled off his shirt and was absolutely horrified to find three claw marks, carved deep into his flesh. Annabelle the doll had done this, he knew it.
They knew this was no little girl, the feeling in the apartment since the mediums visit was evil and unwelcoming. So they called Father Darnell, who in turn called the legendary Ed & Lorraine Warren.

It didn’t take long for the Warrens to call out the demon possessing the Annabelle Doll. They told the girls that the Demon was simply manipulating the doll to get close to the girls and eventually take control of Donna.
So the priest preformed an exorcism on the house and the Warrens took Annabelle home to be locked away. Ed even stayed off the highway because he was concerned that the evil spirit might ” fuck with the car “. Sure enough the car cut out numerous times, the power steering continuously failed and even the brakes where giving him trouble. Ed stopped the car, opened the bag and sprinkled the doll with holy water which for a while stopped the activity.

Ed placed the doll on his desk and left it there. They would later report that it would levitate frequently, but after a while just seemed to quit and lay back down. Probably sensing they just weren’t scared. But Annabelle was soon more active even in the Warrens house, she began to appear in more parts of the house without anyone moving here.
Ed decided to call a priest to preform another exorcism, but the priest didn’t take the doll seriously.
” Your just a doll !, You can’t hurt anyone !” he shouted at Annabelle. On his way home his brakes failed and his car was totaled in a horrendous accident, the priest survived but his injuries where life long.
He called Lorraine later on and said the last thing he saw was the face of the doll in his rear view mirror.
Annabelle Today
Annabelle today remains locked away in a blessed case in the basement of the warrens with a sign that clearly states DO NOT OPEN. After the passing of Ed, Lorraine lives alone but does not go down into the basement which is a makeshift haunted museum. ” Destroying the vessel would only release the entity and allow it to roam free and choose another vessel,” Lorraine told TMV in a recent interview. We can only wander what will happen next to this sinister little ball of fluff. That is the true story of Annabelle the doll.
Demons are a common thing in todays world, and whilst they do provide an amusing investigation where those who are more daring or perhaps just a little bit more dumb. These Demonic forces are well known to manipulate like you have read above.
