Most Haunted Places in Belfast
Belfast is well known for its insanely haunted locations, but we decided to look at Belfast the surrounding areas because they are so teaming with folklore and legend. But perhaps what makes Belfast so haunted is its ties with druidic worship and witchcraft.
Below we have selected the 3 most haunted locations in Belfast, this list is unlike any other. We are honest.
No.1 Demon House
No.1 is without a doubt Armagh’s own Demon House. This is location is incredible, honestly like something out of hollywood !
To the naked eye this house is a typical Georgian terrace house, the perfect family home. But what goes on within is nothing short of demonic and F*$-ing terrifying.

The Ghost itself at first presented itself as mick, a previous owner. We know this because the short lived previous owner Sharon unwillingly shares her tale of horror.
For this family it all begun days after they moved in. There two year old daughter was speaking and laughing in her room. When asked who she was speaking with her answer was ” Its Mick, hes angry they cut down the tree in the back garden”.
This new invisible friend seem chatty enough and not aggressive at all until the young mum and dad heard there child screaming and crying. They ran in to find her pinned face down into her bed. It all escalated from there.
From this point onwards the haunting became brutal.
Objects including a sofa would be flung across the room, large white mists would form and follow the residents around the house, child’s hand prints appeared upside down on the mirrors, screams, yells, psychical harm being done especially to the young girl.
Not to mention a huge Michael Myers looking character walking around the house. They even caught him on camera.

We dont scare easily, but this photo defiantly causes sleepless nights. It is clearly appearing as a large male, with empty eye sockets and a skeleton white face. It appears to be looking directly at the camera.
Sharon’s States ” We saw him on a daily basis”. Time to move i think.
To date no investigation team has lasted more than a few hours. No demonologist or exorcism has been successful and after was was probably there life savings into the home, has a family lasted longer than a month. The demon still lurks within.
Footnote. Demons at first try to trick you, maybe they appear as children ‘ Upside down hand prints of mirrors ‘ or perhaps as kindly old men. But you can never be sure. As soon as they gain your trust or sympathy they are in and your life is shuck.
No.2 The Ballyboley Forest
No.2 is Ballyboley Forest. The Ballyboley is one of the most haunted forests in the world ( bar the suicide forest in japan ).
The forest itself has been at the centre of Irish folklore and legend for hundreds of years. Even today locals point blank refuse to go near the forest.

During the 15th-17th century countless locals went missing from around and within the forest. Afterwards they would find absolutely no trace of them.
However locals report to terrified women screaming and towering pillars and white smoke raising from somewhere near the centre of the wood.

For 500 years white columns of smoke are still seen rising from the centre, and the woman’s screams still heard from within.
Back in 2013 two young guys decided to go wandering into the forest ignorant of its history. It wasn’t long until they heard a women screaming. So they ran in deeper until they came to an small stone altar and all of a sudden the ear splitting scream of a women sounded from directly behind them.
Needless to say they ran like hell. However one guy turned around and saw four figures dressed in long white, blood smeared robes. Hoods up and faces hid in shadow, just standing and watching them run. The figures where also surrounded by trees all covered with blood.

There are countless reports today of these robed figures. People often see them standing in the break of the forest again just watching, sometimes they are also said to hold branches on fire.
But the question is are these figures amongst the dead or are they descendants of the original Druids. Still carrying out there deadly rituals.
Whatever the answer there is no doubt that Ballyboley Forest is one of the most haunted locations in the world. True all forests hold something that is naturally eerie but the Ballybolley is something else, something darker.
No.3 Old St. Comgalls School
No.3 is Perhaps our favourite location ! Because no-one knows about it ! To date only a single investigation has taken place in the building and what they caught on camera was incredible.

Take a close look. The little girl in the white dress is a regularly seen spirit here, and fair enough little girls in white dresses not to exciting.
Probably one of the more common haunts. But take a close look at the large black shadow at a man standing directly behind her and looking directly at the camera !

Intruders never seem to make it out of the Boiler Room in the bottom of the building, which seems to be a back entrance as well. They claim to be chased out by a large black shadow figure or a man wearing black overalls. He screams ” Get Out !”
The Spirit is thought to be that of Jimmy Drain an old caretaker of St Comgalls in the late 1970’s.
The schools kids even used to joke he would stay and haunt the place. It would seem to the non inquizitive mind that this is just the case.

However the large black shadow was only seen after some kids decided that breaking into a supposedly haunted school and pulling out the ouija board would be a good idea.
The kids where left shaken after the board caught fire in front of there eyes and almost taking the building with it. You’ll see the room inside now dubbed ” The Ouija Room”

So it would seem there are two possibilities.
1 ; After the near destruction of his beloved school Jimmy Drains spirit rose up to defend the building from all trespassers.
2 ; This figure was summoned after the ouija board opened up one of those illusive portals and something a whole lot more evil came through and now lurks within the building.
Whatever it is the fact that it reacts to people in the building and is now constantly seen with the like something of a surrogate guardian or prison guard *you decide. This is an intelligent haunting and one that deserves a hell of alot more attention
